Australia: Bondi Beach, Sydney Harbour and The Smithy Arrives :)

After 3 amazing weeks in New Zealand we were heading for the shores of Australia. Thanks to 2 amazing people we met in Cambodia we were able to stay in a penthouse apartment over looking Sydney Harbor for 12 nights!! 😊

We spent a couple of days down on Bondi Beach amongst the fitness fanatics! needless to say those 3 sit ups I did in the morning (got out of bed 3 times) got the 6 pack (of beer) toned up just right so I didn't look to much out of place :P We went to a swimming pool next to Bondi which is filled up with sea water and was the perfect temperature (freezing!) after stomping round the Coastal walk for 2 hours.

The next day we were off to the city to check out the amazing sites of the Sydney Harbor Bridge and the Opera House. Together they are picture perfect and an amazing feet of engineering. Next to the Opera House is the Botanical Gardens which is a beautiful place in amongst the skyscrapers and the hustle and bustle of the city. The city is an amazing sight once the sun has gone down.

2 days later our mate Smithy arrived from Perth, we hadn't seen him for 18 months after he moved out here so celebrations were in full flow as we also saw my 33rd birthday in with style. If you ever go to Sydney go down to the Lowenbrau Bar, which is a German themed beer kella with 1 litre pints on offer! needless to say I couldn't remember getting home that night! 😊

Sydney was the perfect end to our 6 month trip, and we can't thank Ken and Karyn enough for giving us the opportunity to spend more time than we first planned to explore Sydney, thank you both and we hope we see you again in the future . . . well ken and me have still got that game of pool to finish, 2 -2 it stands at now 😊
