The title of this entry says it all, that's the impression that i get by being here in the Blue Mountains for one day. But I'll get to that a bit later on.
First i need to fill you in with what I've been up too before today..
Well as usual I'm still loving it up here, I had been based in an Irish pub for the last 10 nights whilst completing all the schools around the region, i nicely plodded along working for most of the week, i don't think you need to hear about that.
Then there was the weekend, last weekend, not too hectic but fun and interesting at the same time.
On Saturday morning i took the trip up to Mount Panorama, home of the Bathurst 1000, Well durr, its quite a great course to see, and drive, the view from the top was amazing, looking across the valley over Bathurst with the Blue Mountains in the foreground, i took a few photos and stick them together on the comp to make a panoramic portrait, which you might see many a time from this Blue Mountains trip.
The rest of the day was just relaxing.
Sunday was the day i was
most looking forward too. I had booked an adventure tour at Jenolan caves, which is an amazing place, so many things to see and do, i hope to back soon too. The tour was amazing as well, 3 hours of crawling, sliding and climbing through a small network of caves. I left with the urge to complete their 6 hour Mammoth tour, which is definitely on the cards next time.
Well as usual i was working all week, this time it was the small schools turn, having done most of the big schools in Bathurst, this in turn resulted in many kilometers throughout the day and averaging 4 schools a day, but i got all the ones near Bathurst done and now this following week i do schools in Lithgow and around, in which i will be done by the end of the week.
NOW i can tell you about the amazing 24 hours I've had here in Katoomba.
I'm here at the Katoomba YHA, ehich is pretty big and an awesome place to stay, i rolled in at about 3 and set myself up for the weekend, including cooking an over sized fried rice. I met two guys from my dorm, Simon
( The mechanical Engineer ) from England, sorry buddy not sure i can remember the name of where ya from, and Tom ( The law student ) from the Netherlands. upon grabbing a bite to eat, Simon and i took at trip up to the local pub for a few beers.
Most people in the hostel were awake and ready to do their daily sight seeing by 8 - 9am, this is where Simon, Tom and Myself decided to go mountain biking on some off road trails, away from most tourists.
Luckily we were only doing a half day (because the others both had to leave at 3), because i can tell you i was buggered beyond belief, the others made it look too easy.
Off the dirt track about 1.5 hours we found an amazing place to see spectacular views of the Blue Mountains and also stop for a bite too eat.
So i find Myself unable to function properly from this ride today that i thought I'd plonk my self on a comfy couch and update this blog.
Tomorrow I'm looking at going to checkout Wentworth falls and possibly a few other spots along the way, if i can still move that is.
i
strongly recommend people come and checkout the Blue Mountains, its friggen awesome.
well its one more week up in Lithgow and then I'm off back up north to Lismore for a couple of weeks.
this is Hugh Chapman, signing off from Katoomba YHA in the Blue Mountains
Adios,
