The three sistersThe three sistersThe three sisters

The three sisters... wow...rocks. Nice. very high. Hmm... gonna have to step back from the edge now...
Well, here is the lowdown, forgo the whole 45$ bus ride to the three sisters from katoomba, just hop on the early train from syndey, and spend the day, hop on the train back. its actually funny/sad to watch people pay for it since you are forced to follow their regime. You might miss a few of the smaller sights, but the best of the blue mountains is easily accessible.

I left this morning on a train with George to katoomba (we almost missed it), and then we got off the train and walked down the street to echo point 15 minute walk maybe 20 minutes. It was kind of nice after sitting for 2 hours on the train from sydney. We checked out the three sisters. After the initial 'wow thats cool' there really wasnt much more to do than stare into the forest and walk around on the nature trail. We walked out to the three sisters... yes you can walk out... right out to the third sister on the left. It was interesting, but nothing i can say i will be doing again. To put things into perspective, the canyon/valley is about 1/3 the size of the
Oooh.. A lizard.. Oooh.. A lizard.. Oooh.. A lizard..

Lots of these guys sunning them selves on the path . keep your eyes open.
grand canyon in depth... maybe 1/4th. it is immense, but you can see the bottom.
We then walked to the scenic point to the north side and attempted to check out the waterfall, which is blocked by a tram car. yes a tram car. Dont expect the three sisters to be out in the middle of no where. And at that point we got rained on. infact it rained all the way back to the tourist booths, and then stopped long enough for us to dry off. We then braved the cold an headed back to downtown katoomba, after taking shelter in a bus station as it thundered and lightning right over top of us. Kind of freaky for about a half of an hour as the rain got worse, but luckly it let up and we carried on.
After a warm shower, some coffee and a change of clothes, I am ready to go out and get some food. There is a cheap restraunt which is quite nice right under the downtown YHA on Pitt street. Very nice, kind of chic too which is different considering the food is some of the cheapest in town i have seen.
Tomorrow
The valley.. The valley.. The valley..

If you look down into the trees hard you can almost see the tree hearders from lord of the rings. lol. Actually the trees are super tall. Probbably 30-60 feet tall.
i will book my flight, and hit up the aquarium with george. I am here in sydney until the day of the 24th, so i might book a few extra nights while i wait for my plane. It is going to be expensive, because i have not booked far ahead. So i might head south to kangaroo island and see the devils marbles, the kangaroos, and the fairy penguins. But then again, i might just bugger off and head to NZ. *shrug* who knows.... Im on vacation.... permanent style...lol
