Mystery on the RiverMystery on the RiverMystery on the River

3 boats, 2 people. what gives?
So its been a while since we last blogged, however soon after we arrived home from our wintertour 2013, we got the builders in, over the summer months, doing a major reno on our home cave. New ceiling, burn mega plastic at new furnishings and Vwella' it's nice, but just a little bit too comfy. So here's our dilemma, Comfy Cave versus Freedom Road, but alas the wanderlust of itchy feet never leaves us, in fact every time we get something from the Freedom Machine, the gypsy genes kick in, and we just want to pack up and head north again for the autumn/winter.

However this little conundrum saw us exploring our neck of the woods, checking out the local camps. I guess too often it seems we are all guilty of falling into the trap, that to enjoy a good holiday, one must obligatory drive a huge amount of Ks', throw bucket loads of money at the holiday thing, in order to claim the great holiday prize. Well not so!, when one lives in the great Northern rivers region in the foothills of the massive Mount Warning Shield volcano, encompassing the remnants of the 'Big Scrub' region, some of

the best holiday spots are right in our own backyard and are also the best kept local secrets. Well I will probably be hung, drawn and quartered for breaking the secret pact of silence, among the locals, but here goes, who are we to keep this much guarded info to ourselves? ..... Of course top of the list is Broadwater reserve right on the Richmond River, great rest area, with clean flush toilets, picnic table/shelter, but its BYO water, thats' okay, and of course good estuary river fishing. Here you will find all the usual suspects on offer, bream, flatties, whiting and the occasional bullshark. Well its not Amityvile, but these are piscatorial nastys', who are just down right grumpy and like to chew lots of stuff, including the odd human, so we respect their habitat and don't bathe in their bistro, if you know what I mean.

What about a mystery, don't you just love to solve a real life mystery's, not the book and t.v stuff, but stuff that just gets ya scratching your head, thinking, "What the", get your brain around this one. Check the first photo of the lovely vessels moored just off our campsite.

Oh, NO!!!! Not you again!
You will see, One houseboat, One yacht, one little putt putt, for yacht to shore travel. BUT, only two passengers, hubby and wife, whats going on here, (1)Grand Theft Yachto, (2)Look after my yacht, buddie, while I sort out some stuff on land, (3) Murder on the high seas, and occupants fed to the bullsharks, or (4)Could it just be the best doghouse on the planet, for when the husband is sent to his yacht for being naughty, or just gets a chronic dose of cabin fever. I don't know, but it just looks a bit sus. to me.

Anyhow......there we were enjoying the peacefulness and the serenity of our river bush camp, when who decides to do a 'drive by', but good old neanderthal Slasherman. Talk about groundhog day, for those new to our blog or need an instant refresher on this mono cell brained imbecile, We invite you to check out our very first blog of 2012, (Broadwater on Richmond, Johhny crim and the encounter with Slasherman). When same bat dude, same bat slasher, same bat brain mentality, decides to annoy the crap out of us again. Just like 2012 here he is, whizzing around at high speed, narrowly missing us, throwing all sorts of flotsam and jetsam at our R.V, solar panels and anything else he can single handedly destroy with his agricultural weapon of mass destruction. I mean what is it with this guy. Any way, just got to send him peace and love and wish him well, everybody's gotta learn some time. But glad to report we are still very happy campers,' please stay tuned for the next installment of gr8 secret camps in our backyard, coming to a computer screen near you real soon. So lots of love and best wishes to all of our subscribers, cheers Morningbird and Littleflower
