The Blue Mountains with Ian - 29th - 30th November 2008

Saturday

I met Ian early morning (a bit too early for my liking) and we joined our Oz experience tour to the Blue Mountains. We stopped off on the way to see some kangaroos which I think were my first for this trip!!

We then spent the day doing some great forest walks and being pretty impressed by the views - especially of the Wentworth Falls and the 3 sisters. We did a lot of walking and it was sooooo nice to be out of the city getting some fresh air - the sun even came out for us and we had a great day

I think our highlight though might have been the near vertical railway we had a ride on!! Or the mountain rescue helicopter rescuing a woman we had passed on our walk with a twisted ankle - we should have feigned an injury to get a shot in that!!!!!

We stayed in the YHA in Katoomba that night which is a great big old hostel and had a good look at all Ians pictures from Canada, US, NZ..... makes you just want to keep on travelling until you have seen it all!!

Sunday

We got the train to Wentworth and trekked to the falls and then down to view them from below. It was just stunning! We sat there for ages watching the water then we had to climb about 5000 steps (me exaggerate - no!) to get back up to the top.

Exhausting but worth it then it was back to Sydney and cheerio to Ian......
