DAY 499
Oh Bliss! Saturday morning and my first lie in for 2 weeks, after work last night we both fell in to a crumpled heap, at last it was the week end.
Andy was still up early as usual, but I was taking advantage of staying in bed a little longer and savouring the warmth, not that it was cold outside, on the contrary the sun was already up and it had been a warm night, but my lie in was short lived as I got out of bed and on with the day.
We are intending on having a fairly relaxing weekend the last two weeks have been busy ones and because the Wallaby Wanderers were here with us last weekend we chose to maximise the time we spent with them rather than worry about keeping camp.
With all of the washing done last night we headed over to the washing lines to hang out the rests of the damp washing, it will dry easily today with the nice breeze that is now winding its way through.
Back at the trailer we set about tidying things up, we empty the fridge to give that a clean, the washing up is done, anything that was left hanging around is found a home, any batteries that need charging are placed on charge.
With a few chores sorted, camp is looking much better so we head out to Bunnings,, Andy needs a few tools in order to fulfil one important job that needs to be finished which is to fit the new LED lights on the rear of the trailer, he also needs a few tools, as he promised himself when he was earning he would buys some new toolsto complement the tool kit he already has.. We had the basics to help us when we hit the road initially but as time goes on you find that there is additional equipment needed.
We had a mooch about as we are looking for some inspiration on a small project at some point Andy and I split up, but when I find him again he is talking to someone, at first I wonder who it could be, but find that he is talking to the couple that we met on our day out with the ACT 4wd club, I think this may be the first time we have bumped into someone we know in Canberra!
Anyway, lunch is calling so we head back to camp, while Andy sets about completing the job I set about making some lunch. After lunch I help to check that all the necessary lights are working once we are plugged into the Patrol. The results are great, the lights are so much brighter and so much better for travelling when the road conditions are poor, i.e. with dust and water.
I enjoy sitting in the shade outside the awning, the sun is so warm and the fresh air is lovely, the atmosphere seems really pleasant sitting here, we were going to swim but a lazy afternoon felt better, but we also had to pop out for some groceries so the groceries won, but as soon as we were back we carried on with relaxing.
The afternoon gave way to evening we only had a snack for our evening meal and under the shelter of our awning and the cool evening we sat and played cards, we do own up to drinking a beer or two, but unusually for us it was late to bed, we finally crashed at 11.00 when we could not concentrate on the cards any longer.
