Watsons Bay
Veyr pretty bar in the Harbour itself Leaving for Perth tomorrow and had a pretty busy week in Sydney before I did. Firstly another visit to Watsons Bay, possibly because it is a lovely secluded bay with hardly any waves so you can actually swim, or because it has great birds with very little on or perhaps due to the nudist beach. Well I plucked up the courage to get my bits and pieces out and hit the beach. Nudist beach is so the wrong word to use for this place, it's pretty horrible. I found out that it is basically a gay pickup spot and within minutes of being on show, old gross gays were standing metres away from me having a good look. I even spat at one bloke to was really trying to get a good angle. I now should take this opportunity to appologise to all the ladies I have looked at in this manner, I know now what it is like to be a piece of meat. Of course, the things we do to get rid of our white bits! It wasn't all nude sun bathing, me and Lawrence took our masks and snorkels to play around in the harbour. It was ok,
but you realise when you can see under water just how many jellies there are in the water. I was in for ages the other day just swimming when I couldn't see below the surface.
The next day was deep sea fishing day, we had a full day at sea in 35 degree heat on a boat, a full crate of beer and enough food to feed an army. We got to the harbour entrance and all was fine, my friends Lawrence and Jack (Timmy from South Park) were having a right good time, well as good as it can get at 8am after waking up at 5.45am. Little did we realise that out of the shelter of the harbour are 2 metre swells and in a little boat it was hell for some. To cut a long story short, there were 6 of us in total. 4 of them did no fishing really at all and were just sick for hours. Happily I wasn't one of them but Lawrence and Jack were. I'll never forget the noise Jack made as he was sick. I at this point was starting to feel queezy myself and the sight of him
bent over the side almost sent me right next to him. I was fine though and went on to be champion fisherman, catching 4 fish out of the 6 the whole boat got and the biggest one too. Sadly no sharks or marlin like I dreamed about but caught some fish so was good fun.
Ok on with the Canberra road trip. Me, Susan and Lawrence rented a car and hit the open road for the journey. Canberra is around 3-4 hours drive south-west of Sydney. Now I was warned before I left about Canberra being pretty dull, I believe the exact words were:-
"In Canberra, make sure you don't have a shit in the morning and there is nothing to do in the Afternoon!"
Well the drive was pretty fun, as always we had to break the law somehow on our drive, be it drinking, speeding, no insurance so we let Susan drive some of it. Now she doesn't have a full licence so that was a first. She's a good driver though. Got to Canberra and after checking into the hostel we hit the streets to see the sights. First stop was the Telstra tower
which has great views over Canberra and then onto the new Australian Parliament building, which was actually pretty impressive. The design of the buidling was great with grass up the sides of the building, no idea how they mow it but looks good. We did the usual tourist thing, touring the main halls and wings which was kinda fun. Next stop was the war memorial, which was interesting if not fun. All the Aussie battles were represented, so was interesting seeing all the old photos and items on display. Not a bag of laughs though! The hostel was great which is a plus for Camberra as we sat up till the early hours drink countless beers and goon. Next morning we did the National Museum of Australia which again was alright, all full of stuff about Abbos and Captain Cook but a great building on the lake there. We even rented a pedalo to go out on to the lake, within seconds we were all knackered and just drove around trying to hit and sink little kids in their boats. We'd been in Canberra almost 24 hours and we soon realised that this was enough so back into the car
Nudist Beach
Perverts everywhere and on our way to the coast. We'd planned to sleep on a beach again south of Sydney like Home and Away. On route we found a go-kart track, you might hear differently from Lawrence and Susan but I was the champion out of the three of us. Lawrence did his best to slow me down and granted I did spend most of the time behind him but this was cos he was hogging the road. Susan somehow got the fastest lap of the three of us, probably as she is lighter than us. We argued all the way to the coast as to who was best...me!! Sadly the weather turned so no sleeping on the beach. We ended up miserable in the cramped car, drinking to drown our sorrows. Was an experience I can say! Not one I wanna repeat
Back to Sydney for the weekend and Saturday night was culture night for me. I donned my finest suit and headed to the Sydney Opera house to listen to the Sydney Symphony Orchestra with Susan (the only one brave enough to come with me). It was a show called Symphany at the movies and was presented by Michael
Darling Harbour at night
Great place to people watch! Parkinson. All the old classics, sadly I knew very few, from films like Cassablanca, Gone with the wind and luckily star wars. Parky was funny and was a great show actually which even suprised me! Afterwards we headed to the Shangri La hotel to drink more vino on the 36th floor Blue Horizon Bar, amazing views of the harbour and topped a really nice evening with a kebab on the way home. That's culture!!!

Good slogan for the tourist board
"In Canberra, make sure you don't have a shit in the morning and there is nothing to do in the Afternoon!" Love it ..... still, making the most of a boring City by the looks of it ... I've seen you go-kart fairly recently, so I'm pretty keen to hear Lawrence and Susans side, you're a bit of a bowser! Anyway have fun, need more snaps of the girls at this nudist beach please
