Greetings from soggy Alberta,
We left Fernie this morning with new snow on the mountains and lots of wet stuff falling in town...and no views of the mountains. Probably a good thing we didn't see the surroundings or we wouldn't have left BC. We travelled east through Crowsnest Pass and into Alberta. Roads were straight and boring...lots of wind and rain. We met up with Dave and Amber Sessford (old PG friends) in Lethbridge and then head on through the rain to Medicine Hat (still no idea where the name came from). No camping with the weather the way it is (fair weather travellers). Tomorrow we hope to whip through Saskatchewan with a longer day of driving, but Samuel is grumpy tonight so we'll see how things are in the morning. We can hope...

No exciting pics this time. Lynne did try to get a pic of the welcome to Alberta sign but Paul was driving too fast (yeah whatever!) so it didn't quite work out. We'll maybe load that on the next time to give you all a laugh...

Anyways, if the weather stays crappy we'll probably keep hotelling it so you'll get another installment tomorrow.

All for now.

The 'Hat'
"Medicine Hat" is the English translation of 'Saamis' - the Blackfoot word for the eagle tail feather headdress worn by medicine men - or 'Medicine Hat'
