Christmas Day 2008 at the guesthouse was definitely not the year to worry about having a white Christmas. Even before the first day of Winter, we had already accumulated over thirty-six inches of snow. With snow falling almost every day, the feeling of Christmas in the Bavarian Alps seemed almost real. In addition to our twelve enkelkinder, we enjoyed guests from the Ukraine who spent the extended holidays with us.

Today our guests, Reverend Richard and Sally Warnke, missionaries from the Ukraine left for their return to the "old world". They have been tasked with re-establishing the German Lutheran churches closed by the communists after the Bolshevik Revolution. These churches were originally established by the Germans from Russia over two hundred years ago.
