Rips Thrift Store
As much museum as thrift store. This road-trip has changed me. I hope that I can remember and hold onto this desire to make this world a better place.
I have seen amazing landscapes, houses, yachts, highways and bridges. There is so much wealth in this country, yet there are people living in abject poverty. Absolute squalor on a par with third world conditions. I know what an urban food desert is now. I have spoken to people that feed children in their community out of their own pockets during school breaks because the kids won’t eat otherwise. To combat the anger, desperation and fear too many turn to drugs and alcohol. Domestic violence, street fights with and without weapons.
I am so grateful for what I have. So, I have a plan. I am going to volunteer with my local elks lodge and go back to school. In my humble opinion, education, education, education is the key component to some very complicated social, emotional and just plain human needs. The seemingly never ending cycles have to be broken.
On that note, the world is a beautiful place. Find your way to seeing the good and pass it on.❤️l❤️❤️
