After unexpectedly spending an extra day in Rapid City, SD due to car troubles (all fixed now), we finally got on our way again towards Wyoming yesterday (Friday, 10/28). On the way, we stopped at the Crazy Horse Memorial that is still being carved out of a mountain in the Black Hills of South Dakota and we drove by Mt. Rushmore. Once we finally made it into Wyoming, we took back roads to get to Devils Tower. The sun was just starting to set as we got there so it was really pretty. I’ve never seen so much wildlife on any single drive - just on this dirt road we took to Devils Tower, we saw buffalo, tons of deer, antelope, turkeys, hawks and probably more.

We’re now in Buffalo, WY on our way southwest to Jackson & the Tetons, then Yellowstone. We’ve had really good weather so far, but on the drive into Buffalo we got our first glimpse of the mountains & there’s snow on top. I’m sure it will start getting colder pretty soon now.

I can’t upload any pictures from the computers in this library (no USB ports), so I’ll have to try at the next library stop.
