After one last stop at Willow Flats, we sadly said goodbye to Grand Teton National Park. We savored the occasional glimpses of the mountains in our rearview mirror.

We headed east on 26/287 crossing Togwotee Pass, el 9,658’, in a construction zone. After we passed through the town of Dubois, the scenery began to get more colorful as we traveled along the Wind River Valley. At Riverton we shopped for some groceries while Kerry got the oil changed in the car.

We then drove through beautiful Wind River Canyon to Thermopolis, home of the world’s largest mineral hot spring. Then on to Worland, where we turned east on the Cloud Peak Scenic Byway. We passed through Ten Sleep and over Powder River Pass at 9,666’ after climbing for about 25 miles. Then it was a sometimes steep downhill run to Buffalo, WY, where we’ve stopped for the night.
