March 31 - April 2 The Road Home

We completed our packing and were ready to start the long trip home at 10:30 AM on Wed. March 31. We made it across the Florida boarder to southern Georgia the first day. Our trip took us around Atlanta and through Chattanooga and Nashville TN. We had dinner the second evening in Paducah, KY near where we started our trip on Kentucky Lake last October. The last day we had a good tail wind as we drove up the length of Illinois. It would have been a good spinnaker run if we had our mast up. We finished our 1,500 mile road trip in Baraboo at 3:30PM on April 2nd. We will be with our loved ones for Easter.

Rick and Wayne are still good friends after being confined together on a 27 ft sail boat for a month. All we can say was that it was a good trip and look forward to the next adventure.

Thank you for following our trip and all the nice comments you made. We will try to add a short video to summarize our trip.

Traveling with Wayne and Karen
During the next several years I hope to take a number of trips and wish to share my adventures with family and friends. Some of these trips will be short in duration and distance and some a little longer. Some will be by land, some by sea, some by air and some by a combination of these. I will be traveling alone or with Karen or other family member and some trips will be with friends. When I travel with Karen this will no longer be MY blog, but OUR blog. Sit back, relax, bare with me and enjoy. ... full info

Trip home
Hi guys, Welcome home. Your trip back from Florida sounded so familiar. It was the same route I took back and forth from the Southeast, to Wisconsin, for about 8 years. Sounded like a great adventure, one that most people never get to do. Lorraine and I would like to take in the spring "icebreaker" meeting, but don't know for sure, as it is so far to drive home after the evening get together. Roger
