Ok...5 States today! Doesn't seem right does it? Wasn't that we were going 'hell for leather' or anything...so, lets see if I can get them right.
New York
New Jersey
Pennsylvania (stopped in Philadelphia)
Delaware
Virginia
and then into Washington DC. Pretty amazing, Huh?
Philadelphia is a pretty city and seems really clean. Saw Independance Hall and the Liberty Bell. As we walked around visited the oldest street in the USA - very pretty. Benjamin Franklin must have been a unique, brave and intelligent man - apparently he invented many things...maybe should read up on him. Anyway, lots of monuments and things named after him and saw his final resting place. It was a bit of a shame because we were rushed on our walk and I felt that I didn't really connect to the history - maybe also because my knowledge of US history is limited also.
So, back in the coach and came to Washington. Haven't seen a great deal of it yet - that is for tomorrow. Had a nice dinner and have met some nice people, in particular, a NZ couple that are dairy farmers and a
retired teacher from NSW.
Well, that's if for tonight. Will blog again when next have access to internet.
