Hi all, this being our last night in DC we thought it maybe best to do another blog as we understand where we are going next (Parkin, in Arkansas) they don't have internet also it is nice to finally catchup with our blog page. So we are not too sure when our next blog entry will happen, however we have enjoyed our visit, DC is a very nice city it dosen't appear to be over-crowded and people seem more pleasent. Where we are staying is right in downtown, Hilton Garden Inn which is very central also our room is quite spacious. NY was quite cramped with 3 adults and 2 double beds in one room this has the same theory but more room to swing a squirel or two around. 1st day in we arrived around midday jono and I went for a walk to the white house and checked out the neighbouring area. Evening we just spent in watching tv flicking thru all their channels, John, jono dad will be leaving us in the morning as he will be spending a couple of days in Arkansas with his sister before we arrive.
2nd day 16/9 We all had breakie together
Rosa Parks & IRosa Parks & IRosa Parks & I

The lady who would not give up her seat on the bus
then saw John off (ka kite ano John). Jono and I decided to take a trolley tour around. This took us to the Capital building, white house, jefferson memorial, messo institute, embassy row. Hopped of in a place called Georgetown quite an exclusive area and we believe that JFK lived there as a junior senator, walked around and decided too lunch inwhich it was our first time eating esgarco (french snails) done in garlic butter-nice. Went into a actual tobacconist where everyone behind the counter was smoking CIGARS allsorts of cigars, they also had it drying out. Quite different to our tobacco shops at home. Went back into town and did another loop of the tour, then we decided to walk back to our hotel in the evening and stayed in for the night.
3rd day 17/9 Jono and i went and had breakkie downstairs then had to do some housekeeping (laundry) didn't have anything planned for the day but i was interested in seeing Madame Tussauds Wax Museum, so off we went. And man! that was sooo cool had alot of fun and you will see by the pics. After that we walked over to the Air and Space
THE BUSTHE BUSTHE BUS

History was made, civil rights
messo museum, then the National Museum Of The American Indian, both these places were interesting and good value. Took the long route back to the hotel, got in about 4pm and here we are now me blogging and jono just chilling we won't be going out tonight as we need to leave for the airport by 6am. Wow out of 13 flights we have 5 more flights left, not long now and we all will be heading home. Anyway all this is where I will sign off, hopefully we won't be out of internet access for too long, so sit back and enjoy the pics. Arohanui Jono & Daph
