Back home....Back home....Back home....

Skagit Bay from our deck
We had a lucky trip back....we were flying on passes and so had no reserved seats, but on the website the flight looked wide open with plenty of seats....when we got to the airport, we found out that the plane was being loaded with lots of cargo, leaving perhaps no room for non-paying passengers. We waited with several other people for an hour, just about giving up hope and starting to plan for a night in an expensive airport hotel room...and then our names were called! We were off to DC. We also got on the connecting flight to Seattle without a hitch (thanks again, Karl!).

Since we left late at night, slept on most of both flights, and got to Seattle before noon, it really felt like we just had gone sleep and woken up on another continent in another hemisphere, and in the process, trading warm rain for cold and summer for winter. (It was snowing heavily in the mountains when we arrived and snow is predicted for here tomorrow!) It is strange how we learn a new city: the street names, landmarks, customs, good restaurants..and then have all that crucial information become almost instantly useless. (Unless we

see a rerun of Househunters International Buenos Aires and can recognize the streets...!)

We woke up this morning to sun shining on Skagit Bay, daffodils blooming, and the bees from my hive out looking for flowers....it is good to be home...

We really had a wonderful time in Argentina: the people, the food, the wine, the immense differences in geography and climate we experienced...we'll be back soon!

Thanks to all of you who followed along on this latest adventure..we love getting your comments and messages...

Until the next trip, goodbye!

Welcome Home!
I have so enjoyed the journey with you both. Lots of vicarious fun for me! I walked up thru your yard Thurs. and was alarmed to see lights blazing. I walked up on the deck and saw your travel gear and stuff and realized you are home! Nothing stirred, so I left. According to the last blog, I'm glad I didn't knock for you were both probably sound asleep. Maybe you will have a travel show for the Hope Islanders on the big wall!?!? Soon!? Linda
