The modern day philosopher I chose was Bill Gates! I chose Bill Gates because he has a big impact on the world right now and in the future. Bill Gates has enlighten the world by providing computers that millions of people use daily. Bill Gates lived in Washington,Seattle with his mom, who was a board of directors at a bank, and a dad, who was a lawyer. This impacted Bill Gates a lot because this made him very neat and straight because his parents wanted him to go to law school, which he dropped out of later in life. His family always valued and still values the importance of volunteerism and civic engagement. This is influential to the world because Bill Gates traveled to very poor countries to give back to them because they have nothing. He is a philanthropist, so he loves to help people out who are heavily in need and will do anything to help one another. Also, Bill Gates has donated to different charities because he wants to help anyone out there in need.
