The Historic Triangle

Hello,
This is my first time doing this. I am looking for any suggestions on my summer trip to Virginia. I am a History techer & want to see as many history related things as I can. We are planning a trip to Williamsburg, Yorktown, & James town this summer, but I don't know how long I should allow. Is a day in each place enough? How far away is Appomatox Court House? How long should I plan for visiting there? The reason I am stressing this is because I went to Gettysburg last year & didn't plan for nearly enough time. Any help would be great!
