We made it to Virginia! Mark out another State.
Yes everyone we are still alive! We were visiting with Wayne and Rhonda for a few days and we were busy catching up. For those of you who don't know them, Wayne is Necia's brother and they used to live in Lindsay. They moved to Fincastle, VA about 20 years ago and have lived in their current house about a year and a half. We had a very nice visit and I got to meet their youngest son, Zach and his family. He has a lovely wife Hannah and three small children, Kelsey (7), Zeal (4), and Merritt (10 mos.). We had a great time together visiting and getting to know one another.

Rhonda unfortunately had to work some while we were so Wayne took Don and I sightseeing one day. We went to the Natural Bridge which is one of the 7 natural wonders of the world. We also went to the swinging bridge in Buchanan and saw a bunch of turtles swimming in the James River. It was very nice as you will see from the pictures and we had a good time. The next day after church we all went on a drive down the Blue Ridge

Parkway. Unfortunately it was overcast that day so the views weren't as good as they could have been. The drive was very pretty and reminded us of the Natchez Trace. We were only going to stay 2 days and ended up staying 5. As you can see we had a great time and hated to leave. Wayne and Rhonda were great hosts and we told them, as well as Zachs's family, that they are welcome to come to our house any time so we can reciprocate the hospitality. The Virginia area was beautiful but very hot. Hope you like the pictures. 😊K

Supposedly inside of the white box is where George Washington carved his initials into the side of the Natural Bridge. I had a hard time seeing it but maybe some of you can see it.

Here are the turtles that I talked about that were swimming in the James River. These were taking a break on the log. They were all over this area. Very neat.
