We are actually in Shelby, Iowa, but that wasn’t an option on the drop down menu. It’s 10:30am CTS and we are getting ready to head for the day. We arrived here last night about 9:00pm, CST. It’s a clean inexpensive RV Park, very basic. It’s kind of like a truck stop for RV Travelers. I did not have internet access last at the site, so I had to get closer to the office this morning. The lady in the office is awesome…jack of all trades.
We had a pretty intense lightning & thunder storm here last night with some high winds. The trailer really rocked a lot. Anyone who knows me, knows I am terrified of lightning, so it wasn’t too much fun. LOL
We traveled about 560 miles yesterday, putting us 1,041 miles into our trip. Route 80 is a relatively boring stretch of highway, with not much to see except corn & soy crops and some livestock here & there. We have seen LOTS of bikers, presumably on their way to Sturgis, South Dakota to the big Biker’s fest. We saw a couple of HUGE Wind Turbine Farms too.
I have not driven yet. Larry has done all the driving, his choice, not mine. He says when we get someplace where the traffic is not so heavy, maybe I can try driving to experience the “towing” experience. I should have done it at home on 390. Being a passenger all the time is very boring when there’s not much scenery.
Ginger has been a great little traveler. She sleeps on my lap most of the time, zonked out until it’s time to eat or go potty. She gets this look on her face sometimes like “just where the hell are we going, anyway??” LOL
