On Thursday we drove up highway 12 to Torrey, Utah, and highway 24 on into Capitol Reef NP. We checked out the visitor center and then hiked about 2.5 miles into the Cohab Canyon and then about 2 miles along a ridge top on the Frying Pan trail. We then backtracked to the trailhead and drove to the Cassidy Arch Trailhead and hiked the 3.5 mile trail to the arch. Enjoyed remembering the Cassidy Arch trail from our visit 10 years earlier. Gained and lost over 1,000 feet in elevation a couple of times on these trails.

On Friday, our last full day of the trip, we did one last short 4 mile hike on the Chimney Rock Loop trail. This one had a gain/loss of around 600 feet passing a ridge with views of Chimney Rock and then traversing a good portion of Spring Canyon.

And below are the last pictures, from the hikes on these two days.

Lots of these flowers along a slope on the Chimney Rock Loop trail. Saw lots of these flowers on most of the trails we hiked on this trip.

A close-up of one of these neat flowers. Most, like this one, had a large white flower, fully open, with a smaller pink flower that was not fully open at this time of day (around 9:00 AM).
