Left the Jackson / Teton / Yellowstone area and headed into Utah destined for Park City and Moab. In route we stopped to tour the Great Salt Lake via Antelope Island State Park. The Great Salt Lake is great and salty... but really its huge, looks more like an ocean but is 7x more salty....why so salty you ask....many streams in rivers flow into the lake area but none flow out, to the lake accumulates high levels of minerals and as the water evaporates high levels of minerals and salt remain, some sections of the lake are saltier than others, in one section i read that it is approximately 25% salt, dont drink the water...
We parked for our hike and the bison slowly moved closer and closer to our location. Before we knew it they were blocking entry to the bathroom and blocking entry to the trail head. You dont walk up to a full grown buffalo and ask him to move...so we took a detour to the trail. Some cool sites, quick easy hiking on hard packed dirt so we just kept going, topping out at a 13 mile day, Kona was anxious to get back to the

culvers
in and out burgers are great, although 5 guys rocks too. but when traveling through the mid west also try Culvers butter burgers . there good also.
