Bike ride through Moab canyons We had another free day today although there didn’t seem to be much to do around Moab we weren’t going to waste our time. We woke up and got ready to go down to the mountain bike shop and go for a bike ride. Only Hannah, Min, Tina, Dave and I decided to go but the strange thing was that Jon said we were the first group he has had who have done the Moab bike ride. We walked down to the bike shop where they took our height and weight and adjusted the bikes to our individual build. We waited around while they adjusted our bikes in the workshop and soon enough they were ready to go. These bikes were high tech, really good quality mountain bikes which were worth around $1300 second hand. We rode around the car park to get used to changing the gears of the high tech bikes then headed off for a ride. We rode down a dirt track that went through the bottom of a canyon and went quite a way before Min popped a tire. We all pulled over as Dave patched it up using the small repair kit we were each given.

Bike ride through Moab canyons As soon as Dave finished up, Tina’s chain came off her bike so Dave and I forced it back on and told her to ride around and change gears to test it out. As she did, she fell straight over the handlebars face first in the dirt because she pressed the wrong break. We all tried not to laugh but as soon as she got up and she was smiling we all burst out laughing.
We continued on a little further before Hannah and I were getting hungry and decided to turn back, Dave, Min and Tina continued on up the next hill. Hannah and I returned the bikes and went to get some food from Burger King across the road. We sat stuffing our faces, waiting for the others to return their bikes. After they got back we made back for the campsite and hung around there for the afternoon. Dave and I went to do some washing across the road and came back just in time for an early dinner. When both trek groups were ready we walked down the road and got ready for a 4x4 sunset hummer ride but with a difference. We took a

On the way back to the bike shop track called ‘Hells Revenge’ which took us over extremely steep sandstone cliffs. While driving on the sandstone the tires had extremely good grip and therefore could take ridiculous steep climbs and drops. It was insane what we drove over, some of these mountains were so steep and narrow we all thought there was no way this thing would make it up. We arrived at the top after an awesome ride up the side of the mountain and we watched the sunset behind the canyons. The river below cut through the canyon which made for another suburb view. We were treated to some light snacks and drinks before it began to get dark. We drove back in complete darkness which was a little freaky, great fun though.
When we got back our group went to the small amusement park and played mini-golf, go karts and also did laser force. We arrived just in time because they were closing up but the couple who ran the place were very friendly and stayed open until we finished up. Afterwards we went down to a typical American bar down the road and had a few drinks and played some pool. It wasn’t long
