Lesser known than the Grand Canyon but equally impressive, Bryce Canyon lies in southern Utah. We drove out to Bryce Canyon from Las Vegas, about 4 hrs, we passed through Zion National Park. Bryce Canyon was the maddest place, huge numbers of rock pillars rise up from the valley floor in shades of red, orange and brown, about 300 ft tall. Truly one of the most impressive natural spectacles I've yet to see. I walked for only a few miles within the canyon, along "Navaho Walk", watched the sunset, and then headed out to look for a cheap motel.
