Thursday

We are staying at Stone Creek RV Park in Schertz, TX, about 20 miles north of San Antonio.

Day started off with a visit to the Alamo. After the Alamo, we took a boat tour of the San Antonio River from the Riverwalk area. Roy was the boat captain and offered to perform $1.50 marriages. This river complex is really interesting and well worth the $6.00 per person senior discount tickets. Roy was very knowledgable of the history of the River and Riverwalk. Also cracked a few jokes along the way. After the boat ride, we made a visit to the Buckhorn Saloon & Museum - - GREAT!!! They had a lot of animal exhibits, illusions, Texas Ranger museum and a BAR!!! After our trip through, was all had drinks in the bar. The actual "bar" was 150 years old so it had seen of of the real old west activities, wish it could have talked. The cost of this was $38.00 for couples. We did a little walking through San Antonio and had pizza at PizzaRita's - good pizza.

Went to Lackland AFB where Aleta and I were married some 42 years ago, but found that it is a closed base and we needed a sponsor to get on the base. We racked our brains and came up with only one possibility - Dillon - who is my sister Linda's grandson. Linda left a message for him, but no word today - - maybe tomorrow.

Remembering...
We loved San Antonio, the Alamo and Riverwalk! We found the food there very good. We are so enjoying re-living our travels as you and Aleta are visiting so many places we have visited over the years. My Mom's brother lives in San Antonio. He's a retired Air Force Colonel...30 years service. We once had a Mary Kay Directors' Conference there also. Keep traveling and keep us updated, we are enjoying reading about it. Love, June & Max
