The city has constructed a downtown beach on Lake Granbury. This is a very nice clean area next to Hilton Hotel.
Granbury is located approximately 30 miles southwest of Ft. Worth. Is is an interesting historical town of about 5000 people. The downtown square has many historical buildings still in use including the Granbury Opera House. The town was founded in 1863 and in the latter part of the 20th century the Brazos River was dammed to form Lake Granbury. The lake has a downtown man made beach which is quite nice. the town was home t the wife of Davy Crockett and the county is said to have housed such notables as John Wilkes Booth and Jesse James. The town is always an interesting trip and dinning at the Buffalo Gap was an excellent choice for food.
