August 6th, 2013 9:17 pm CDT Day 28 Today started out by installing the radiator I repaired last night. I thought it best to let the J B Weld set over night. The J B Weld has done the job as the radiator did not leak today. I guess I'll have to slow down to 40-45 mph, the day the leak started Mae said, "you're driving 55 mph down hill", it didn't seem like we were going that fast. We left Haskell, TX. at 9:05 am and arrived at our motel in Granbury, TX. at 7:30 pm. Our highlight of the day was seeing our former pastor and his family, The Christman's. We stopped to see see them in Justin, Texas. We ate at Chicken Express across from our motel. Today mileage was 221 miles. Our ... read more

One week until I leave!!! Awwwww…..I originally thought I would be leaving on September 13th but apparently they want me to arrive on that day. I must admit I have been a nut case this past week. I am a planner. I love my passporter and I LOVE to have everything ready to go AHEAD of time. Apparently China and Corporate Disney do not feel the same way. The process to get to China is a long and drawn out one. Step 1 turn in lots and lots of documents. Step two is waiting for the Employment and Welcome letters. Step 3 Get my Visa. Step 4 Go to China. Sounds easy right?!? Well the step one was easy enough….the step two almost sent me to the looney bin. China didn’t even type up my letters ... read more

I can hardly believe that almost a month has gone by since I had my Skype interview! Time has flown. I enjoyed my time in California and I was sad to leave but I have so much to do in preparation for the big move. I have wanted to visit China for a while but not in my wildest dream did I ever think I would actually be packing up my family and moving there!!!! We choose the city Wuhan in the Hubei province of China. It is in the middle of the country. Which means on my days off we can explore the wonderful history around us. Wuhan is also one of the fastest growing, up and coming cities in China; not to mention a travel hub for the bullet trains. I will be working ... read more

I was searching the internet for a day trip and saw where Granbury was having a General Granbury’s Birthday Celebration. I looked at the schedule of events and saw they were having an outhouse race. I could not pass that up. I called my friend Leigh Ann to see if she was interested in going too. I picked her up when she got off work at 11 and we headed to Granbury for the outhouse races. We arrived there about 1:00 p.m. and since the races didn’t start until 3:30 we wandered around town looking at all the booths set up for the festival and the checking out the stores on the square. The booths were just the typical ones you find at a festival. The stores had a lot of unique items. It was fun ... read more

Granbury is located approximately 30 miles southwest of Ft. Worth. Is is an interesting historical town of about 5000 people. The downtown square has many historical buildings still in use including the Granbury Opera House. The town was founded in 1863 and in the latter part of the 20th century the Brazos River was dammed to form Lake Granbury. The lake has a downtown man made beach which is quite nice. the town was home t the wife of Davy Crockett and the county is said to have housed such notables as John Wilkes Booth and Jesse James. The town is always an interesting trip and dinning at the Buffalo Gap was an excellent choice for food.... read more
