Our book club is not only sending Stanley on adventures around the World, but also hosting Stanley for a class in New Mexico. We took a picture with Stanley in front of our school with our principal (posted). We are working on taking pictures with Stanley at hot spots around Austin. Students will write letters to the 3rd grade class to tell them all the important things one needs to know about Austin, Texas.


Traveling Stanley
I am an instructional coach at Walnut Creek Elementary School in Austin, Texas. As a part of our reading book club with third grade students, we are reading a book called Flat Stanley by Jeff Brown. This book is about a young boy named Stanley who is accidentally flattened when a bulletin board falls on him in his sleep. Stanley is able to have many adventures because he is flat such as sliding under doors, making himself a kite, catching thieves in an art museum, and mailing himself to California to visit his best friend.
