Because we had an 11:30am morning luncheon with Michael and Cindy Easley (former pastor at GPBC and former president of Moody Bible Institute), we had to leave WhiteStone by 8am in the morning.
Fortunately, we had an "hour change" for us, as we traveled back from Eastern Daylight Savings time to Central Daylight Savings time.
Glenn had talked to the kitchen folks at Whitestone, and they prepared a picnic breakfast for us to take with us. I looked on the GPS aka Betsy to see where the first Rest Stop would be on hiway 40. It was only about 45 minutes down the road. Perfect timing. With the time change, we had the chance to enjoy a relaxing picnic breakfast. It included scrambled eggs, bacon, fresh fruit, biscuits, and even pancakes and muffin. We enjoyed orange and cranberry juices.
We stopped several times as we headed into Nashville. We arrived at the Soy Teryaki Bistro restaurant about 11:05. We had some time to relax a bit.
We enjoyed our time with Michael and Cindy. They are so genuine. And it was like we hadn't skipped a beat. Cindy is in real estate and LOVES it. We talked about our kids. We
talked about our struggles, our challenges and our joys. And we also talked about "When are you going to retire?" We get that question a lot.
After a delightful 2 hour lunch with Michael and Cindy, we headed toward the Cook's house. We had several things we needed to do. Glenn wanted to go to Discount Tires and have the tires checked. Then we needed to go to Wal-mart for a few things. I wanted to take a shirt back that I hadn't worn. We then went to the Post office near by for me to drop off my thank you/support post cards that I had been working on.
Then we headed to the local library. This was about 3pm, and we decided to go to the library for two reasons - 1 - to get on the internet so I could do some more "investigating" and 2 - there was a letterbox inside the library.
The clues for the Letterbox were very creative. We had to look where the Biography for Andrew Jackson was. And it was near a computer. So at the end of this particular row, the LB was hidden. I investigated, and we couldn't do it right then,
because some library employee was restocking the shelves. We waited a little bit longer. (No photos of the Letterbox)
Glenn was paying the phone bill (AT&T) on line. He had to do something with the account. While he was doing that, I was writing my "thank-you" cards. I did about 10 or 12 of them.
We then decided we needed to go to dinner. We had told the Cooks that we would arrive after the meal. We chose "Las Palmas" Mexican restaurant. Glenn and I shared a Fajita nachos. Very good. We were also watching Tennis on the big TV screens.
We arrived at the Cooks house just as it was getting dark. We stayed up several hours talking and getting caught up. We thanked them for their support.
