We went white water rafting for a family vacation. We stayed in the Oconee state park. I had a great time. I love white water rafting. The water was really low so we spent more time pulling people off rocks then falling over rapids but the ones we did go over were amazing. We did other great things like swim through under water tunnels and jump off cliffs. It was a beautiful river. I spent a lot of time thinking about what early americans must have felt when they travled through the area. How amazing it must have been for Lewis and Clark.
I was not going risk my camera to the fate of the cameras from the movie Deliverance ,which was filmed on these rapids, which now sit on the bottom. The pictures are from a five mile hike Dad Grant and I took to hidden falls inside the park it was really pretty but again it showed how much the state needs rain. The rocks seemed to be sqeezing out the water.
