New Year's Eve 2012

The countdown is on....a few more hours before it becomes a New Year - 2013. May it be a wonderful New Year for all of you.

We are going to be glad to put 2012 behind us. We had some joyous times but we also had some sad ones as well as some challenging ones (memories of Red Bay). The year 2012 is ending with a bang for us.....Read On!

Yesterday, we had lunch in Geneseo with our families as it will be awhile before we are together again. It was a joyous time. The roads were clear....not like the day before when we had originally planned to meet. On Saturday, it had snowed so much it looked like we lived in Alaska. What a difference a day makes! Read On.....

Cory decided we should leave on our Florida journey today. The weather was good for travel (only cold). It is only going to get much colder as the week goes on. So we hustled around last night and this morning and bid adieu to our snowy home in Shongo. We left at 11:30. It was joyous being back in our traveling bus. I could hear Lulu singing from the back seat. Read On....

We stopped at a Sleep Inn in Carlisle, PA. We have stayed here before. Sadly, when they asked if we had our pet, we had to say "no". Read On...

Cory wanted to park the RV in the parking lot so it didn't block anyone. When turning it around, we scraped up against what we thought was a big mound of snow....it made a real bad noise....loud! Read On...

Under the mound of snow was a huge rock!!! Yep...."de ja vue"...one of our compartment doors now looks like a grinding wheel found its way onto it. Happy New Year! It does not interfere with any function of the RV....just looks bad. So, we shall have it replaced. NO...not at Red Bay even though we'll miss Swamp Johns. We had already planned to stop at Lazy Days (Tampa, Florida) where we bought the RV, to get it de-winterized. Now, we shall have them order our door and make an appointment to get it fixed. Fortunately, during this wait time, we will stay at our RV park, Tropical Palms, where we are headed for the winter. We shall just take the RV back to Lazy Days when they get the part in. They will have to paint it so we shall stay a couple days in that area (not a month)..."de ja vue"....we shall stay at the Hard Rock Casino when they work on it. Lemonade, anyone? Buffets to boot! Already we can see a promising 2013.

We ate dinner tonight at a Cracker Barrel and now have settled in to watch "the ball drop"on TV. This has been our routine for many years now. Our luck, the ball would probably drop on our RV if we were close enough.

Happy New Year and watch out for hidden rocks and white churches. We know 2013 will be a good year....we just know it!

Safe Travels!
We are wishing you safe travels! We will be thinking of you today, you should be passing our neck of the woods. We live less than a mile off I-95 at the Fredericksburg VA exit. If you ever need anything in our rea, don't hesitate to let us know!! I am looking forward to following your journey, and only wish my family and I could be following you as well. We have vacationed in Kissimmee many times, and have often stayed at the Comfort Suites Maingate very close to Tropicle Palms. We always enjoy looking t the antique cars on display at Old Town. We are hoping to move to tht area someday soon, but so far it's just a dream.....
