cook island
browsing trough my camera OK where was I ?? oh yah the happy hour...lol...anyway, the first week was the best because the sun was out and so was the stars and the moon. The ocean too was bearable to swim on, so we went snorkeling on the lagoon and took pictures, which are still in our camera which needs to have its own software to be downloaded to our PC before we can download the photos of the marines animals. Fyuihh...what a long sentence that was. So, we met some fishes, from the clown fish to a 'blue starfish' yah blue, never seen one before in real nor on TV, some sea slugs they are black and ewwww....some urchin and many more, but no NEMO hahaha.....there was ELLEN tho hehehh..... OK serious mode back on. Lots and lots of corrals and little crabs on the beach along with them hermit crabs whom i adore coz they are so tiny and cute, and since the sun is out and warm and no wind, we spent our afternoon on the beach and sunbathed while it lasted yayyyy....darkened up the tan and read the book for the rest of that afternoon.
Saturday we went to the Island
cook island
the lovely view from our bungalow night ( similar to Luau in Hawaii ) at the Water edge Resort and it was nice. The host was funny and the dancer was beautiful and they can shake their bon bon pretty darn fast. It's a buffet dinner, so we eat like there was no tomorrow, yummmyyyyy......the chef made a Swan like shaped cake and it was good, so was the rest of the foods. We also took a picture with the Warrior wannabe hahaha.... he was one of the dancer. We're so full when we got back to the room, so then i went and lay down outside the patio and stargazed for almost 3hours, and boy I saw lots of shooting stars like never before. I saw about seven of them in one night alone and not so far apart from each other. OK this is gonna sound so silly, but one night we went to the buffet dinner at the hotel's restaurant, we joined the group of a dozen Kiwis who loves their wine and beers. Anyway, I was just looking at Mr. Moon so bright in the sky, then came a big shooting star so bright and so suddenly, so I screamed "shooting star"

one of the restaurant we went to has this beach front view bungalows and one of the Kiwis, Alan I think was the name. Anyway, he jumped coz apparently I scared him screaming like that and he started teasing me. He screamed out "omg, there is the moon so bright" then said "bloody hell what was that about" hahaha....I got so embarrassed afterward, but dang it I don't get to see shooting star here in US. I'll be lucky to see a star let alone shooting star. I'm laughing still as I type this sentence hahaha....
A week gone by and we reserved a hiking trek for the conservation program. I wanted to see the trees and birds and the island's wild flowers. However, it was a bust coz the price was more than what we thought and the guide looked as if we were a burden for her to get up and take us for a strolled in the woods, so we canceled that for fear it wouldn't be enjoyable being with a miserable unfriendly guide and it was expensive beside and was raining too and cold. Arrrgghhh...she was rude and ruined our plan, so we walked to the Saltwater cafe which was nearby, thank goodness. Oh and the owner was Thai gal married to German fella ( too specific eh..) the reason I said that is because we only see a few Asian around the Island, so when we saw her it was a good surprise in a way. The lunch was a success even though the plan of the day was ruined, oh well....better day next time right !!
Saturday is also the farmer's market day which took place downtown from 9am-12pm, and it was crowded. All the tourists and locals alike came to see and be seen and enjoyed the foods, crafts, and traditional dancer performed. I bought myself a black pearl bracelet and a pendant for a friend, and some of those black pearls are soooo....expensive. They are beautiful and so round and good qualities also, or least that is what the vendor said, and whenever you buy pearls it should come with a certificate of authentication to show that it is indeed a pearl and not some shell shaped and made to look like a pearl. The day we ended with ice cream by the shopping strips downtown.
