Our trip from Pendelton, Oregon to Keizer, Oregon was majestic. The buttes, snow-capped mountains, rivers, and waterfalls were beautiful. When you have been away from the Northwest scenic drive for a long time it is like discovering its beauty all over again. The pictures will describe the different stops.

Driving toward Baker the Columbia River came into sight. Across the river is Washington State and windmills.

See that patch of green? Occasionally we would see vineyards in the middle of the dry landscape.

On both the Oregon side and Washington side are tall buttes. Try to imagine that at some locations pioneers had to drop their wagos from the top down with ropes.

River barges are pretety typical on the Columbia River bringing wood or grain to the Astoria, Oregon port.
