We were assigned a book to read by our faculty advisor for the trip, Tina. The book is "Mountains Beyond Mountains" by Tracy Kidder. It is a story of "the quest of Dr. Paul Farmer, a man who would cure the world." Anyone interested in the topic of global health especially in Haiti would enjoy it. In the book, a reference is made to Margaret Mead and the following is paraphrased from something she once said:
"Never underestimate the ability of a small group of committed individuals to change the world. Indeed, they are the only ones who ever have."
Makes you think!
