Just 30 minutes from the Mill's residence...
Is a beautiful lake known as Lake Norman, located in Cornelius, North Carolina.
We started the day lazily, spending two hours in bed and then finally crawling out towards english muffins with cherry jam ontop. Coffee, shower, quick lets go- we were off to meed David down at the lake where lies their Pontoon Boat named "Savannah". We, being Stacey, David, Frances, Bill, JD, Audrey, me, will, adam and maeghan all hopped on the boat and we set off at about 12 noon.
Our first stop was a lovely little island with a campsite on it, lovely green trees and cool fresh water. As soon as we stopped, we all stripped off and into the lake we went, floating around or eating lunch (crispy skin chicken and coleslaw) on the boat. The dogs Stella, Rocko and our Lucky all had a bit of a splash aswell, although Lucky was a little more sensitive about the water and preferred to paddle in the shallow areas =P
After lounging around for an hour and a half or so, we then set off into the middle of the lake to begin
the tubing! (for those of you who dont know- tubing is when one or two people sit in a floating donut tied to the back of the pontoon, which thusly takes off with the person in the donut splashing along behind.)
First up was audrey and JD, who both managed to squish onto the donut and last for a LONG time out in the water without tipping off. There were a few boats around that created a current and thus created obstacles for the "tubers" if you will =P
At first I was hesitant... because i'd clearly never done this before and didn't want to go after the extremely fit JD and audrey and fall off within the first 5 minutes... So will said he'd go with me and here begins the BEST part of this trip so far (apart from seeing will of course =P)
As soon as we got on, we realised that we're both bigger than audrey and JD (audrey being the size of maeghan for example) so squishing into the donut hole was a struggle to begin with. As soon as we took off, we could FEEL the intensity of the pull, will sitting behind me
Pontoon timeeee
Adam walking along the dockscreaming "LEAN RIGHT" or "LEAN LEFT DAMMIT" so that we wouldn't topple over completely. I also got the spray of the water, note to self: hold legs up next time.
I have to say, we lasted on the water for AGES and came in 1st place for the most air time over the current bumps! It was LOADS of fun and I would do it in a heartbeat.
Adam and Bill then had a turn, both being bigger than the combination of Will and I or Audrey and JD. We all had a great time, i think ive still lost my voice from screaming so much, but awesome nonetheless =D
After that, we swam around a bit more with the dogs, lay around on the pontoon and then head off back home, my hair a tangled mess and my arms a little sunburned. The houses on the shore of the lake were also MONSTROUS, i think the word "mansions" would be more appropriate, some complete with helicopter pad (yes thats right) and most with their own dock and open backyard for the view. "Ohhhh my god" seems to be the only way to describe it.

Maeghan on the dock we're planning on going to a place known as "cook out" which has about 20 different milkshake flavours... im still yet to find one better than Hahndorfs but i'll let you know when I do =D
