Monica and grubMonica and grubMonica and grub

Last meal in Chesapeake VA.
On September 30, 2014 after a frenzy of loading the last of our gear, we got some grub and then rolled out of our driveway on the first trip. We cruised about 3 miles to park at a Walmart to get some sleep before heading to New Bern NC. It is cool that a lot of WalMarts let you park in outer lot over night - saving RV Park fees. Bright and early we drove the rig with car in tow to New Bern, NC. It was a smooth ride and we found Chop likes to sit by the dash and look out the big window. It was about 130 miles to our first RV Park. We had a site at Moonlight Lake RV Park, New Bern NC. on web:

The park was reasonable and small. The sites were sandy soil. We had electric and water and sewer hook up. There is a small pond that they call the lake - cute but don't expect a lake. People were nice and we enjoyed our first RV park. We stayed a few days while visiting my parents in New Bern and they thought the park and our rig were great.
