Motorhome News from North America 27 26th October - 7th November 2006 From The Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia all the way to North Carolina How y’all doin’ today? Many States across North America have ‘Visitor Welcome Centres’ along the highway as you enter. We find them an essential source of information. July 19th, the D-Day has arrived! The movers are scheduled to come and take everything we own away. We are kind of apprehending this because they didn't seemd to be organized at all.... Well, I got my final details today. Here goes: The weather in China is very similar to weather here in New Bern---except NO HURRICANES :-) There is exactly a 12 hour time difference between China and New Bern--so if it is 12am here it is 12pm there. Wow! I can not believe that there are less than two weeks left before I leave. So far I have sent off for and received my visa. I already had a passport. I have gotten a tetanus shot and read lots of informaton on China. I started with good intentions to learn a few chinese phrases and actually found an awesome site at www.chinesepod.com. In each city we visit we will visit schools and community colleges to observe them in action. We will meet with educators and students to learn about the Chinese education system, exchange ideas, build relationships, and set up sister school relationships. We will be visiting schools in Beijing, Shanghai, and Xi'an.
