Three weeks ago we were wondering if we might fit in a couple of side trips out of New York. The High Line runs along the Hudson River. This is a view of Pier 54 owned by Cunard Lines and where the Titanic was due to berth at the end of its maiden voyage.

This is the deli where "Harry met Sally". The signature dish is pastrami on rye and is a real heart stopper!

This small lower East Side museum is situated next to one of the original tenements that was used by the immigrants from the middle of the 19th C. Conditions were really hard - no running water or heating and four outdoor toilets for 120 residents.
