Hi everyone!

We are sitting in some internet cafe in New York at the mo to do a quick update - internet is almost impossible to find on a sunday when the libraries are closed so we have been wandering around for ages to find it!

We have done all the main touristy things so far. On first day we went to the top of Empire State Building - Paul was suitably unimpressed by the view but still made us stay up there for ages taking photos!

We went to see Pirates of the Caribbean in the evening and was totally weird experience! The audience went totally nuts at the advert for some crap looking brats movie then started clapping at the end of the film which wasnt all that good to be honest! I much prefer miserable british cinema goers!

We have just about mastered the subway now - its not as scarry as it looks! We are still putting loads of miles under our feet (more than the last time I was here believe it or not!) but that is mostly from going the wrong way! Street system here is deceptively confusing, especially when you have just got off the train!

On our second day we queued for hours in the baking sun to go to see the Statue of Liberty - Paul was v impressed with this, though I still think she is not worth the queues! We didnt get off at Liberty Island for a closer look as we didnt fancy queueing another hour and a half to get a boat back!

We then went to find the Brooklyn Bridge, which is pretty much visible everywhere from the part of town we were in but we still had to walk miles to find a way to get onto it! We walked about half way over but were struggling in the heat so we never made it all the way to Brooklyn, but did get some nice snaps on the bridge.

Hostel is alright - its clean, fairly quiet and the people we are sharing a room with are friendly - would still much rather have a penthouse suite in the Hilton though!

No supermarket picnics so far and I think i am probs being a bit nusrey firiendish with paul, but that will all change when we are in Washington and neither of us has a clue what is going on!

Will try to update soon,

Love Adrienne and Paul xxxxxxxxx

Finding your way around New York----- "New York, New York, it's a helluva town: the Bronx is up and the Battery's down." For the film version, the word "helluva" was changed to "wonderful" to appease the Production Code offices." Looking for a jewish bakery? User Reviews for Moishe's Kosher Bake Shop--Second Avenue Best chocolate babka I love all the desserts at this Moishe's bakery. Amazing cookies, babka and hamentashen. Also try freash baked bagels and breads (great pumpernickel). 115 2ND Ave New York, NY Cross Street: Between Sixth Street and Seventh Street If it hasnt made the New York Times-England got absolutely hammered by South Africa-ran out of steam in the last ten minutes and conceded over 50 points! Wales as ever nearly beat Australia but lost on the last play of the game! Love dad
