Its Sunday, and we have to visit NYC. It is also the New York Marathon day and all the news channels are full of it. Sanjit saw aishwarya in one of the commercials here ( she truly is an international star).
We trudge to the White Plains metro station which is 3 kms away according to me and 2 kms according to Sanjit. The wind is particularly nasty …

We manage to catch an express train which means non-stop to New York. The metro is nothing to write home about..the swiss rail system is much much better…from grand central terminus ( which is quite grand and reminds me a bit of apna V.T ) we catch a local to 59th street to get into Central Park. The local definitely makes me feel like im back in Mumbai locals…its completely packed…

Central Park is where all the Marathon action is ….and we do catch some of the excitement…it’s a bit overcast and therefore chilly….the park is even larger than I thought and quite beautiful…the ice skating rink is particularly fascinating to watch

Times Square

We decide to see Times square…Its quite jazzy and does live up to its

Some of these guys were just poetry in motion
name….huge hoardings, bright lights, chic people, skyscrapers…its as international as it gets. Have a leisurely lunch at a Dallas BBQ place. The place is just full of latinos….contrary to popular belief I haven’t spotted too many Indians in New York. Just a few at Grand Central and at Times Square.

Death By Walking

Its afternoon now and getting quite cold so we decide to head back home. I am made to believe that Grand Central is just a few steps away. So we walk and walk and walk. Then we walk some more. And more. I am sure I have lost a few kilos……ciao for now. Cant write anymore…still exhausted by the walk…

Nice pics
But they need to be rotated in a manner so that i dont have to turn my monitor 90 degrees
7th November 2006

did that. but rotating the pix plays havoc with the pix-el ;-)

Smart Pix
By gum, those were good shots. I can see a sumptuous meal on a platter. SON and BAHU should not add too much of that on them. Morgan Freeman is great. Took a ride on the rickshaw? Individual pix look good too. Saved for future viewing.
