the boys on the trip It has been some time since I have written in my handy travel blog, not sure why really as I have been traveling quite a bit. I am currently back in New York City, my 3rd time in the past 6 weeks or so. I am here with Lisa, Monte, Ariel and Aurora. The last two times were with Cindy, Craig and Aiden. I am becoming the official travel nanny as both families have brought me a long to help with the children. I am finally getting to see more of New York and am getting slightly more familiar with my surroundings here. I have stayed within just a few blocks on each visit so I know where the market is and a couple other essentials. I have been to a number of Central Park playgrounds and also now to the zoo on two occasions. Craig actually had to come back for the Zohan premiere during this time so he let me in, my friend that was going to be my guest never made it so I went solo. Lisa and I also took the kids to the CMOM (Childrens Museum of Manhattan). The website looked pretty good but I must

interesting say we were less than impressed when inside. Ariel got bored as we went for the 5-8pm free time, we left after 45 minutes. It was only a 5 mile or so walk to get to it!
Today is Monte's one day off, the day the family has been looking forward to, however sad to say there is a bug going around. Ariel had gotten it for about 24 hours and we could not figure out why, was it food poisoning? She threw up and could hardly eat for a good 24 hours. Well, last night Lisa and Monte both started their bond with the toilet. They are both weak and not doing so well today, so the big day out looks like another quiet day inside. Today is the day of the big Puerto Rican parade, the same that I attended about 3 years ago with Andrew. It is a day of loud reggaeton music, red white and blue, screaming Puerto Ricans and a pride that you can feel resonate through your soul. For a moment in time, if you allow yourself to, you too will feel like a Puerto Rican! lol The parade will be going right
past us pretty soon and I totally intend on going to check it out.
Ariel is a movie buff, and the movie of choice lately is Annie. She sings all the songs, she knows most the lines and she is starting to get the curls to match the part. I have seen this movie at least 3 times this week and am learning even more myself.
I got to meet some couchsurfers the other night at the traditional thursday night out at Revival. There had to have been a good 40-50 people there. The hotel we are staying in, one block from Central Park, was throwing away boxes of maps and coupon booklets for the city, so I snagged a bag full and took them with me. I gave them out to all the surfers to take home for when they host as they were very useful maps.
Lisa and I have been eating the same thing every day, we are hooked on brown rice and this vegetable mix and balsalmic sauce. Yum. We seem to not be able to get enough of it, we make it everyday. We are trying to be good but we have

Aiden did not really like feeding the animals had our fair share of not so good too. I am hoping we make it to Rice to RIches one day, the rice pudding place that Cindy and I are addicted to. I sure hope that they all feel better soon and I really want to fight off getting this bug. Please please don't let me get it... The hotel we are in is an accommodating place. There is a laundry room that is free and supplies detergent, free internet on MACs and printers, free breakfasts, a full kitchen, gym and it really is like an apartment. Even better is we are one block from Central Park, we are on 58th and 5th.
In the midst of all of this NYC stuff, I also went with my mom out to Vegas. Liber met me out there and we couchsurfed for a few nights with a great host named Aaron. He told us some great places to see, we went to Red Rocks and we went to the pool as well as some random things. I will be heading back to LA for a couple days to attend the Rotary International Convention and then I will be off to Vegas
good times
we had fun again with Alissa to celebrate our birthdays together before heading back to NYC from July 1-19. I can not believe my ten year reunion is just around the corner too!!! Oi. So much going on. I sure hope some graduates attend!
Ariel and I just stopped by the Puerto Rican parade, it is hot out so we only were there for ten minutes. Soooo much energy. Awesome!
We will see what this next week brings us. Hopefully health! Take care!!!
Love, Erin
