Caught you Mom!Caught you Mom!Caught you Mom!

Caught Mom working out on the machines at the rehab therapy without her knowing it!
We are enjoying our time in the US with family. We are getting settled into somewhat of a routine but find that we still have not gotten used to the bundling up, allowing more time to uncover the car from the snowfall the night before or scraping off the ice on the windshield. We have had some time with some members of both Bob and Janice’s family since being back. We both have been spending time with the physical therapist office. Bob finished up on a Wednesday last week and Janice started the next day! We both had started to do some exercises at a local gym and Janice decided to inflict some injury to her left shoulder so PT was the answer. Fortunately with only a couple of treatments she is feeling an improvement. Luckily the exercises we have been given can easily be adaptable to a boat! She will be able to fit in a couple more appointments before we start our trip out to the Trumansburg/Ithaca area next Friday, February 1stand then point south to warmer weather. It will be a whirlwind tour, we are trying to fit in as many friends as we can on the way

It has been great being back for Christmas and getting a chance to see beautifully decorated trees like the one we saw at Charlie & Lynn’s.
as well as look at some possible places to call home when we swallow the hook (come back to the US to live). Lots to fit into a 3 week period, but looking forward to catching up with as many people as we can.

It was nice to be able to help celebrate Uncle Charlie’s birthday in January, have a relaxing and fun weekend in Burlington VT with Bob’s sister Eugenia and husband Rick, have some meals with Janice’s sisters and their spouses and visits with Mom. Before the arctic cold hit and the warning for older people not to go out in the cold, trips driving Mom to the respiratory therapy on Tuesday and Thursday gave Janice another chance to visit with her. Also have been having fun with our two grand nephews, Everett and Gabriel – it has been great to be around to see the changes in them in the short time we have been here.

Our trip up to Vermont reminded us of the beauty of this area, with the ability to see the Adirondack Mountains of NY on one side with a view of Lake Champlain and the Green Mountains of Vermont on

the other. Too bad they have such a short sailing season up here! We have also had a chance to catch a few beautiful sunsets, sunrises and the full moon shining over the winter scenery. We did automatically think however of how much we love to sail under a full moon.

Now to get busy with getting our taxes ready to file, finalize on our upcoming road trip, finish buying the items we want to take back to the boat and see as many people as we can while still in the US.

Take care and stay warm! (remember to scroll/page down to see all the photos)

Who would have thought we would see an exhibit about beluga whales at the ECHO museum in Burlington VT until you remember the closeness to the St. Lawrence River.

We can’t stay away from the marinas even in the frigid cold of Burlington Vermont.

On the trip to Burlington VT you get to the beautiful Adirondack Mts. in upstate New York on one side and the Green Mts. of Vermont on the other.

Sunrises in the winter can be beautiful even if seen through a window on a chilly morning.

Someone was quite clever with those large bales of hay – they actually had two of these guarding their entrance!

We passed many large farms such as this on our trip up to Burlington VT.

There is wildlife here right in the urban sprawl of the Clifton Park area – a red fox walked behind the house we are staying in. This one definitely had a problem as seen by the condition of his tail.

Another moon lit night – just this time we are looking out over a sea of snow instead of ocean – still beautiful!
