We began the day in the lovely showers at the RV RESORT. They were all tile and very nice. Then we went to the complimentary breakfast in the main building that was also tile and oak. We had waffles and orange juice and coffee. We could have had cereal or toast or bagels as well. We talked to some of the other travelers. One couple from Long Island were full-timers in their RV. They said this was the nicest RV park they had seen in their travels over the past year, so they were going to stay for a month! We agreed that it was also the nicest place we had seen so far. On the way back to the camper, we saw some pretty Gambel's quail run across our little space. Another new bird. We packed up and left at about 10:00. It was supposed to get windy and rainy later on in the day. We started out and got five miles down the freeway when it started getting VERY windy. Rich actually showed good sense and turned around and went back to the same space in the RV park. When we were getting set up, Rich propped a cargo door open with its little clasp like he always does, but the wind blew the door anyway and it hit Rich twice on the forehead. Now he has lumps again. He started the trip with lumps and will end it with lumps. We spent the afternoon playing backgammon, taking naps, taking care of the mail and bills, and watching the Weather Channel. It reported that there were gusts up to 50 miles an hour. We were glad we didn't push onward. We went to the Post Office with the bills, etc. into the little town of Mesilla. At the town Plaza, there was a sign that said Billy the Kid was tried and sentenced in that building. That reminded us that at that big service station back in Texas, Buc Cee's, the manager was telling us that he was a relative of Pat Garrett. He knew for a fact that Pat and Billy made a deal. If Billy would leave New Mexico and never return and would "go straight" then Pat would tell everyone that Billy was dead, and Billy could escape. So Billy went to California, married his sweetie, had children, and died in 1956. HOOOWEEEE. And we have a

bridge we'd like to sell you, too!
On the way back, we saw many luminaria on houses. Some were red bags and yellow bags, so they were probably especially nice at night. Roses were blooming in people's yards, too. Later, as Nancy was working on the blog, she felt like she was getting sea-sick from the wind buffeting the camper!
The Weather Channel said that there would be pretty nice weather for the next four days on our route, and backed off from predicting rain for later on. The winds died down at sunset.
We went to bed, grateful for no wind.

We didn't take any pictures again, so please accept these Tennessee pictures as Christmas cards!
