Las Vegas
The stunning canals of the Venetian Hotel and Casino Vegas Baby! What originally started as silly idea quickly turned into the best idea we’ve had in ages, Vegas over summer. We sold the idea to some friends and the four of us were set. Hannah and I’s flight left London Gatwick mid morning but we still needed to get up at the crack of dawn since Gatwick airport was on the opposite side of town. It probably took us a good 1 ½ hours on public transport, that including getting a taxi, the tube and the overground before finally reaching Gatwick. We checked our bags in, found a café for breakfast and before long were ready to board our long flight across the Atlantic Ocean.
It was a long, long 10 hour flight. We flew Virgin Atlantic and our seats were awful, they were broken and covered in dust. To add to that our in-flight entertainment was broken, everyone else in the plane could watch movies except us. The only thing saving us from going completely insane with boredom, was the food, it was great! Finally we arrived in Vegas and joined the long queue for immigration and once through grabbed our bags and left to find a taxi.

Amazing view from our room at The Wynn When the automatic doors opened and we took the first step outside the intense heat hit us hard, it was boiling outside. We jumped in a taxi and drove to our hotel for the next few nights, The Wynn Hotel and Casino. The place was incredible, everything was just so extravagant. We made our way through the impressive foyer to check-in. Unfortunately no-one was particularly in any hurry, making us wait almost 30 minutes before finally letting us check in. We walked through the massive casino floor and got the lift to our floor. You couldn’t really expect anything less from a hotel this impressive, our room was awesome and had a great view of the end of The Strip.
After settling in we changed into some cooler clothes and headed out to explore Las Vegas. We walked all the way to the Bellagio, which was an exhausting walk in that heat, and went to pick up our tickets to O this evening. Having very little time we grabbed a Snapple (I love that stuff!) and had a quick dinner at McDonald’s (I know…) before heading back to The Wynn to get changed for this evenings show. There was
Las Vegas
The incredible Wynn Hotel and Casino no way we were doing that walk again, well at least not until tomorrow, we took a cab to the Bellagio. We took our seats in one of the biggest theatre’s I had ever seen, we had front row seats, splash seats as it were. O was a massive production, most of which was spent in the massive pool which completely covered the stage, front row was likely to get wet. The show was immense, I had absolutely no idea what was going on the whole time, but it looked bloody impressive. Unfortunately the show stopped midway through due to technical difficulties, it actually looked quite serious for a moment with crew shouting out to the performers to hold on. They skipped the next scene and before long were back on track, all in all one amazing show. Due to the time difference and jetlag we were both struggling to speak from tiredness. We took a taxi, the guy sang to us the entire way home…back to The Wynn and went straight to sleep.
