Standin' on corner....Standin' on corner....Standin' on corner....

...in Winslow Arizona...
As planned we were up and out by 7am, with waves from Deanna and the girls opposite, which was sweet.

We headed about 25 mins or so to a Mexican restaurant for breakfast with Keith and Sylvia, We said our goodbyes at the restaurant and then headed off for our day of driving to Vegas, Still following route 66 though as far a possible.

We stopped at a town called Chambers on route 66 for petrol, a toilet and drink stop. However they were out of gas, water and the toilets were not working - Mens or womens, So we drove over the interstate to the other service station and they were also out of water, but they did have toilets, well if you can call them that - A porta-potty, as they call them here! Not in a nice state at all, But we grinned and beared it and were soon on our way again.

Next stop - Winslow, Arizona, Made famous more or less by the Eagles song - Take it easy. We just literally had a brief look around then followed the route through Seligman, Peach Springs and Hackberry where again we started running low

Quick stop at the Hoover Dam, before heading into Vegas
on petrol. So on the look out with my fantastic eyesight I spotted a garage not far away from us, so quickly told Nige to make a right turn, I'm pretty sure the car breathed in as we did as somehow Nige made it through the smallest of spaces between two other cars - The garage? - A Route 66 museum!! Onto Kingman it was, and an up and running garage for our fuel. We left route 66 here for the 100 miles left to Vegas. About an hour later we drove through 'The Hoover Dam' but as it was so busy, I guess due to being a Sunday, we only made one quick stop, but will stop off properly on Wednesday. The Nevada/Arizona border is at the centre of the dam, so (obviously) we crossed into Nevada and drove 25 miles to Vegas

We arrived at our hotel - The MGM Signature - checked in, unpacked, showered and went out for dinner. We then had a few drinks in the bar, a nose around the Signature towers and MGM Grand, had a few bets and cocktails then came back ready for our next 2 days/nights..!
