Riviera....
Our Hotel - only a 3* but very nice! After a one hour flight away from LA, and were in the gambling capital of the world, Las Vegas. Firstly it's everything you've ever thought it would be and then some, every thing is supersized from the meals to the casinos and hotels. It takes 10 minutes for us to walk to our room when we enter the hotel complex, and we're in one of the smaller hotels. Well we only had three nights here and wanted to do so much, but i think we managed to pack it all in. when we first got there we were just tired and wanted some airconditioning (temp was around 107f) so we took it easy and planned out our 2 full days.
Our first morning in vegas was spent walking along the strip going into every hotel and casino checking out how big and luxurious they were and while we were in them i decided to join every casino i could just to see what free stuff i could get, mostly crap but at least the membership cards will make nice momentos. whilst walking the strip we came across a massive M&M's shop, 4 floors dedicated to the delicious little chocolate treats
Having a gamble....
and loosing badly.(my personal faves). where i got my picture taken with the peanut m&m (a life long fantasy hehe). from here it was on to more casinos, and it was a bit like traveling the world in an afternoon. first of all you have the Eygptian themed Luxor hotel, followed by the medieval themed Excalibur, then comes New York, New York, further down the strip you come to the Eiffel tower and The Arc de triumph at the Paris themed casino. still to come is the Venitian hotel complete with gondala trips on the canals and waterways inside the hotel. Across the road is the roaman themed Ceasers palace and the italian Bellagio. But the best is for last Treasure Island complete with its pirate show "the sirens of TI" a show with some very attractive women (El says so, i didn't notice honestly)
Hello people El here hope your still enjoying our blogs now heres for some really cool stuff...
All the way to Vegas of course we had to go and see the Grand Canyon but with only a couple of days here we decided to do it in style and go
by Helicopter! Oh yes the
Air Wolf.
girls afraid of flying but just could'nt wait to get in a chopper! It was soooo cool. Our day started very early as we were booked on a 7 am flight as it was fully booked through the day, we were picked up by limo and headed for the airport! Once in the air we flew accross lots of desert, Lake mead and the Hoover Dam, 45 minutes later we were flying over the canyon and started to decend down the canyon where we stopped off for a champaine breakfast and picture taking. Dave kept humming airwolf during the flight but I couldnt hear much with the headphones on luckily! Then we took off again in the chopper up and out of the canyon and back to Vegas with a flight taking us over the strip with all the hotels. This was a really cool experiance and the canyon was worth seeing but with such a short time to admire it, Im sure there was more to see but also glad we didnt spend a day travelling to see it as it was tooo hot.
Our awsome day didnt end there, after

from the inside.in the limo, we decided to sleep for a few hours and beat the heat before heading out to see more stuff in this city that really never sleeps. After a dinner buffet at the hotel, we headed over to the gun range, I had always wanted to shoot a gun and when I saw it advertised as something you could do here in Vegas I just had to give it a try.
Although I had a vision of shooting a handgun like Mel Gibson in Leathal Weapon when his target had a smiley face of bullet holes, I only ended up shooting with an assault rifle, as holding and shooting is alot harder than in the movies! But it was still fun and soooo loud I had this odd uncontrolable scream come out every time I fired the gun at first. It was funny! So I shot all my rounds and was happy that I had only missed the body on the target once, the rest of the shots were scattered around the body! As for Dave well he chose a bolt action sniper rifle, a big powerful

So to continue our last evening in Vegas after a super day we went for a few cocktails at Treasure Island, and watch a show, then spent the last of our allowence on gambling and of course not winning any millions.
That was our time in Viva Las Vegas, very intersting place and lots of fun to be had, just remember to bring the dosh!
Next stop San Francisco.
El and Dave.
P.S. for those of you who were worried you'd miss something ....... we didn't elope in Vegas!
