Greetings friends!

It is currently night 2 of my epic road trip across America! I am driving from Toronto to Los Angeles in 5 days in order to visit this country and also move myself and my car to LA for grad school at USC.

Night 1 was in Chicago, which was a great city. I've posted some photos for you all to enjoy. We crossed at Sarnia and drove through Michigan, Indiana and Illinois.

Now we're in Springfield, Missouri. We only drove through Illinois and Missouri today. We're loving this state - St. Louis is fantastic and the hotels are super cheap and REALLY nice here in Springfield! I also got to live out a childhood dream at the Laura Ingalls Wilder homestead museum. I actually walked in her house! That she built with her husband!

Larisa and I are playing the license plate game and we're trying to get as many states as possible! Here are our results so far:

Day 1
Alabama
Colorado
Delaware
Florida
Georgia
Illinois
Indiana
Iowa
Kansas
Maine
Massachusetts
Michigan
Missouri
Montana
New York
Ohio
Tennessee
Virginia
Washington
Wisconsin

...a pretty good start!

Day 2
Arkansas
California
Kentucky

Our adventure down the historic route begins in Chicago!

Mississipi
Nebraska
Nevada
New Jersey
North Carolina
Texas

30/50 ain't bad for 2 days work but it gets hard from here - especially since we've already knocked off most of the places we're headed to!

Enjoy the photos!

This blog was created in 2007 when I headed to Perth, Western Australia for a year-long study abroad program. There are still lots of great stories and pictures from that trip, though I got way behind on my blogging and the stories end abruptly in September, 2007 (I was in Aus until Christmas Eve!) Although I've traveled a lot since then, I left this blog in a state of neglect for several years. But I figured another school-related international adventure was a reason to get things started again! In August 2011, I packed up my car and made the drive from my hometown of Toronto to the sunny ... full info
