After this, Paul left Athens and went to Corinth. There he met a Jew named Aquila, a native of Pontus, who had recently come from Italy with his wife Priscilla, because Claudius had ordered all Jews to leave Rome. Paul went to see them, and because he was a tentmaker as they were, he stayed and worked with them. Acts 18:1-3

Well, we are not tentmakers, but we sure are some good tablepainters. It all started when we left Smokey Hollow Campground. I was determined that we were going to make it to Sioux Falls, SD by the end of the evening. I was up early, and ready to go. I knew that the kids wanted to ride the bikes at Smokey Hollow, but I wanted to get on the road. Hubby told me that he didn't want to leave until 10 or 11; so I decided that they could ride the bikes.

We knew that our finances were running low, and we had to determine what to do. That day, it didn't seem like we could drive very far. We had a lot of stops, a lot of map inspecting, etc. It was hard to make any decision, which made me wonder if the Lord wanted us to stop. Finally, Hubby and I just prayed and asked the Lord to lead us to someone who needed help with their campground.

After stopping by an expensive state park, we ended up calling for rates and decided to go to a nearby campground. Hubby went to get our site, and came out and told me about the owner. He had broken his arm and torn his rotator cuff while cleaning the pool. He just had surgery on it just a week or so earlier.

We paid for our site for a couple of days, and Hubby was telling the campground owner about how we were planning to workamp for the summer. We did not have a job lined up yet, but we were tentatively planning on going to MT. Hubby came back and wondered if we should offer to help out at the campground here in exchange for site rent. This would get us by until our next payday. He thought that they owner was possibly hinting around about it, but he wasn't sure. I told him that I thought we should offer and see what happens because:

1. we prayed about God sending us to someone who needed help
2. this guy was banged up and he probably did need some help.

In the meantime, a job at a campground in MT opened up, and we applied. Hubby went to talk to the campground owner, and he talked with his wife (co-owner) about it, and they decided to do the exchange. So, we cleaned the pool and painted about 60 tables in exchange for site rent. They were very happy with us.

We've put our hours in, but we have offered to help out with whatever the owners need because there's not a lot the husband can do until he heals up, and this is a big weekend for campgrounds. Also, we were contacted by the campground in MT, and we got the job!
