We are home!! We left Nashville around 10 and hit the road for a straight shot home. When you are at the end, you want to just get home. It's a mental thing. If we knew we had another stop, we'd be good with it but since we know its over, we want to just get home.

On the way, we stopped in Louisville at Churchill Downs. I have a bucket list wish to go to the Kentucky Derby someday wearing a big hat. Until then, this will do. We didn't want to stay long or do any tours so we went to the gift shop for post cards. Did I mention that the kids write themselves postcards in every state and send them postmarked from that state? Pretty neat getting home to a bunch of postcards to themselves.

We also ate lunch in their Derby cafe which ended up to be really good. Paul had the Kentucky Burgoo which is like a beef stew. It was so good. I had a BBQ beef brisket sandwich which was also delish. The meat and sauce was perfect. Elizabeth had a yummy Caesar salad and the boys had the Louisville Hotbrown. It was sliced turkey on toasted bread, topped with bacon, tomatoes and parm. Yummy cheesy delish. It is a limited menu but gooood.

We were greeted by Touchdown Jesus on I-75 in Monroe which was apparently re erected after being struck by lightening. We we got home around 8 pm. Feels so good to be home. The dogs nearly wet themselves. Thankfully my parents take good care of our puppies. Their furry grandpuppies. Thank you mom and dad.

Check back one more time for the last post called, "it's all numbers." I will tally everything in numbers. Another fabulous adventure. Can't wait till next year. South to Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Florida (last Disney round), Georgia and revisit some others.
