• Day of the Dead was started by natives. The Spanish conquistadors tried to stop the rituals that went along with the day of the dead. A main object used to symbolize the day of the dead is the skull. People build altars for the ones they have lost. Day of the dead is celebrated all over the world despite the spanish's efforts.
• I have a positive opinion towards this since I grew celebrating the day of the dead. We would make an altar for my grandparents. We would offer drinks food, fruit, pan dulce, and we would light candles.
• I think it relates to class because we learned how the Spanish tried to take over many people and change their religious beliefs. However, they were unsuccessful because the natives would not give in. And so now day of the dead has mixed into catholic theology.
